Gratitude Monday: Continuity

September 5, 2011

Tradition. Repetition. Continuity.

Maybe it’s the loss of my mom, a life interrupted disrupted crevice where one never should have been, but seeing traditions and continuity in my life is an important thing. I don’t really know how to explain it. It just is.

Today was a satisfying return to a special place, a special day, one year later, one year bigger, one year taller, one year older, one year better, one year funner. Captured and permanent, I feel safer somehow, and oh, so grateful for a second return to a very, happy day.

This nailed it – you are so right – continuity it gives comfort and grounding – and creates wonderful family traditions.
