What’s Not to Love? Dean Street Society

October 21, 2011

and Hilary. She’s just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen – but here’s the catch. She’s nice.

I’ve known of Hilary Rushford for ages – distant connections with her family, my alma mater, and her old youth group. But we’ve only recently connected personally over her new venture.

You can always tell a kindred spirit when you find one – if I wasn’t certain before, I was after I read this on her website Dean Street Society, Personal Styling and Branding.

“Creating providence” is my term for making space for God to move, clearing the path so you’re present when a door swings open. It’s about not settling for a lesser story than you were created for. I believe we were all created for immense joy, love of a lifetime, achieving mad goals. But we’ve got to work on the creating — what you look like when you walk into the room, your first impression, a genuine confidence people believe — in order to make space for the providence — the serendipity, the job you were meant to do, the girl who’s your soul mate — to run wild.

What is all this Dean Street Society business? Hilary & Dean help “real people with real budgets” find themselves in a visual way. Whether it’s guys looking to punch up their look to meet the girl next door, weddings or just a personal closet overhaul and shopper – they’ve got what real people need.

She’s fun to follow, and definitely a rising star to watch (oh, and then there’s her OTHER job – musical theatre, which is just as much fun to watch!)

Hilary signs her posts and emails “with grace & gumption.”

This girl has a great deal of both. And moxie, to boot.
