31 Days to Shine: The Best Medicine
I call myself Mommy Sherpa.
And then we have this dialogue…
“How many mommies do you see here?!”
“One”
“How many boys do you see here?!” (There are two.)
“TWELVE!!!”
and then they laugh hysterically and I am still carrying everything.
What does this have to do with shining? Laughter. That’s what.
(p.s. Unrelated: Christy, just so you know, there will one day, in about four years, be payback for the whole “Guess what?” “What?” “That’s what!” routine you taught my kids. Just sayin’.)
More fun….

This last one made me snort really loud. I can totally see one of my kids trying this. Not that we spank them. Or even NEED to spank them. Not ever. Nope. Angels they are.
Laugh and be shiny today! Don’t just do it for yourself, do it for her. She needs your glow.

You made me laugh! Thanks, I needed that. Life with little children is funnier than fiction. It’s been a long time since I have been reminded of that truism.
Isn’t it just? But for me the funny is in the telling, not in the experiencing…in the trenches, it ain’t so funny. But hey, it gives me plenty to write about!
Trenches…YES! Today was a VERY long day. I spoke and lectured for most of my 6 hours of teaching. Four hours into it, my voice was shot. Then, I picked up me cousin and took him to the Moveable Feast where We were supposed to meet up with my husband and son. suddenly, I was ticked from behind by the most beautiful little boy who grabbed my hand, looked up at me, and said, “tickle, tickle! I missed you, Mommy!” I had to laugh! I spent the next 2 hours unwinding with some of my favorite boys, my husband, my son, and my cousin. I’m blessed with love and laughter.
Of course, when I got home, I had to be the “meanie” and make the boy clean up his toys because Daddy had let him leave toys EVERYWHERE…Legos, gears, workbench pieces and tools, and more! 🙂
I love your blog! It’s absolutely hilarious and so recognizable 🙂
Thank you so much, and thanks for taking the time to say so! Happy Friday!
